Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia and has a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multilingual society where the original culture of the area stemmed from indigenous tribes that inhabited it, along with the Malays who later moved there. Substantial influences exists from China and Indian culture. How does Malaysian people taste is based on the Malaysian cuisine that consists of cooking traditions and practices found in Malaysia.
Malaysian cuisine is a mixture of cooking cultures from India, China, the Middle East, Indonesia and several European countries. Malay food is strong, spicy and aromatic, combining the rich tastes of the many herbs and spices commonly found in Southeast Asia. In addition, the culture of Malaysia in terms of Malay food is commonly they eating by using their hands and rice is the staple diet in a Malay meal.
The most famous Malaysian food is the dish that includes rice, sambal, cucumber slices and can add either a chicken or a fish. For example, Nasi Lemak, Ayam Geprek, Ayam Penyek and Ikan Keli Goreng Berlada. Other than that, the most famous Malaysian food is asam laksa, mee goreng mamak, ayam rendang and many more. In terms of price for Malaysian food, the price is reasonable for all levels of people in Malaysia. Malaysian people loves to try new food with lots of creativity in the original menus.
We chose ayam geprek as street food for this food review task. We chose Ayam Getok Mantul and Ayam Geprek Paragon because we do some research and found that both brands are very popular. After trying both ayam geprek from both brands, we found that both brands offer the same food. Both brands have their own advantages. In terms of price, Ayam Geprek Paragon is cheaper than Ayam Getok Mantul.
In terms of sambal, Ayam Getok Mantul is spicier and uses original recipes from Indonesia while Ayam Geprek Paragon has a milder sambal and is suitable to be eaten by those who do not eat spicy. In terms of side dishes, it can be seen that Ayam Getok Mantul gives more side dishes such as cabbage, tempeh, tofu and fried eggs compared to Ayam Geprek Paragon. Finally, in terms of menu, Ayam Geprek Paragon offers more menus with various add-ons such as grilled lamb, fried fish, eggs compared to Ayam Getok Mantul which offers a limited menu and is limited to chicken only.
In conclusion, both brands have their own advantages and disadvantages. We prefer Ayam Getok Mantul because of the quality of food offered and the atmosphere in the restaurant which is very conducive and pleasant. Ayam Getok Mantul also already has a strong brand. As for Ayam Geprek Paragon, it is suggested to focus more on marketing because the food offered is also quality but not getting much attention probably due to lack of marketing.
In conclusion, the reason is why there a lots of delicious food is because Malaysia located as a strategic places and rare places such as on the rooftop, on the hills and more to names. Not to forget about our food review, the reason we chose Ayam Geprek is because the branches is, it located at offices and definitely one of a good choices to choose.
Even though Malaysian people should know to make a balance food choices in order to practice healthy living style. I strongly recommend Ayam Geprek because it has a complete balance diet as it provide complete nutrition. Last but not least, we hope that ayam geprek and all local foods may success forever in future.
