Rice is a must in most Asian country including Malaysia, we eat rice since we are kid and it becoming our must daily meals, moreover Malaysian enjoys most of spicy meals. One of Malaysian favourites food is rice with chicken, serve with chillies sauce or “sambal”, it is a simple dish yet it is popular among Malaysian.
We visit one of the famous Ayam Getok Mantul branch located at Seksyen 7, Shah Alam. situated at the heart of a semi-urban area near to offices area and University. It is a favourite hangout place for all peoples that loves to try out the different level of spicy because Ayam Getok Mantul also serve their special menu which is “Sambal Mantul”.
We visit the restaurant during the lunch hour, the restaurant is pack with students and workers from nearby office. The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious and appealing dish. The menu that Ayam Getok Mantul offers are Ayam Getok, Lele Getok, Ayam Semur and for side dish they serve Tauhu Bergedil and Ayam Getok Mantul also offers a wide variety of drinks. The range price for the main dishes is from RM7.00 to RM12.00.

The restaurant design is very simple and the restaurant is a customer friendly. It is easy to find a car park nearby the restaurant and they also provide a good and clean washroom. The service that they provide are also good because the workers are very friendly and serve us very well.
I tried the famous Ayam Getok set A with Sambal Mantul. The set that I ordered is served with roughly cut cucumber, steam cabbage, fried Tauhu and fried Tempe. I found that the combination of the plain rice with chicken was delicious and perfectly balanced added with the spiciness from the Sambal making it more delicious. The sambal taste suits and meet my expectation and preference of spicy level.
The combination Ayam Getok with Sambal Mantul and the drinks that I ordered which is sirap bandung is a really great combination because it reduced the level of spiciness from the Sambal Mantul. Anis tried Ayam Semur, she said the taste of the sweetness and spicy are well balance and suit her taste that meet her expectation and preference. Ayam Semur is served along with plain rice, roughly cut cucumbers, steam cabbage, fried egg, sambal mantul, fried Tauhu and Tempe. Ayam semur also can be serve with sambal mantul if requested.
We highly recommend Ayam Getok and Ayam Semur at this restaurant. The dish is very delicious, and the atmosphere is brilliant. We are pretty sure this is a great place to enjoy the lunch with some friends and dinner with the family. Furthermore, it is very relaxing place.
However, the restaurant is very crowded during the rush hour so we recommend you to come during off peak because of you need to maintain your distance from one and others plus the table are limited because one table can only be seated by two persons at the same times and there’s a big chance that you might not get any table during rush hours.
