Review by : Nasrul Nadzmi and the Geng.
The one that must try restaurant here in Klang Valley, located in one of the busiest areas, Pokok KL offers a sweet escape from city life. The cafe offers the urban crowd a whole new and refreshing dining experience whilst surrounded by the beauty and calm of nature.
Pokok KL Café is founded by Dato Sharon and his wife, Datin Christine. They both startup Pokok KL Café on Deepavali festive, 2018 with the support from Brick House Group. The plan for Pokok KL Café is mainly because they have actually running a small cafe located at Pokok KL itself. But somehow in 2018, they found out that the idea of bringing the new places that attract the younger customer to their place is by having a trendy and also urban environment style of café. Pokok KL Café is only 200 square feet shop.
Already one of the trendiest brunch spots in Klang Valley, Pokok KL Café has done a great job in terms of design and architecture, with emphasis on its floor-to-ceiling glass doors that enhance its simplistic yet aesthetic values. But what make Pokok KL Café more interesting is that they have also “Daun” which is a waiting area for the customer before they can enter Pokok KL Café and “Kedai” which is an artisanal shop beside Pokok KL Café with almost 60 different tenants. About the place, everything was good and modern with a fresh natural environment.
The glasshouse theme effect has been the main highlight especially for the customers, it amaze the cafe hoppers and foodies alike the moment they spot this restaurant. People would enjoy during their brunch time. But there’s only one cons that I discovered, the place is inside University area and it’s always full with University’s student.
We tried one of their great sellers which is Lamb Meatball Pasta. There’s only one words to describe about the food. Perfection. About the price, the price of their food is slightly pricy for University students like us. The Pasta cost us RM28 for a single portion. Apart of the price, the pasta that we’ve ordered is a combination of great masterpiece which combine of good fat from the meat itself.
We could taste the richness of the food. A full, heavy taste that makes people love the food more. I love the preparation, the taste, the presentation, the pasta is not overly cook. It’s perfect as it should be. Food off the menu is prepared fresh from the kitchen, from its soups and bites, to its brunch and mains selections, everything is fresh made. I’m highly recommend their food. It’s so tasty.
Pokok KL Café has also provide delivery services to those who can’t dine in the restaurant. (Or maybe someone who is too lazy to come over). They have 3 different types of courier which is Beepit, Grabfood, and Foodpanda. We only tried using Foodpanda as our delivery service. As for Beepit, customers can directly order from their website or just access through their Instagram account, they can cover up till more than 10km area which is quite impressive.
By using Foodpanda, we’ve been charged with RM5.29 for the delivery service. I will not complaint about the price. It is cheap. The rider done a great job. The food is delivered to me within 33 minutes. The rider’s also wearing mask, it’s such an important thing to do during this pandemic period. Tumbs up to Foodpanda rider’s and did a great job.
We have been told that the packaging they’re using is the same as inside store. As you can see on the video, it’s well wrapped in clear container and a paper bag. The container is a common container that we’re using here in Malaysia. It still preserved the freshness of the food and keep it still in one places even the rider had to wheelie the motorbike. And yes, the pasta is still hot when we received from the rider.
Overall, Pokok KL Café is a must for all younger generations for us. It’s such a great food with a lot of potential. I can tell you guys that this is a thing. They can grow further and well known across the country. I would rate 9/10 overall for this cafe. They are one of kind that young generation would love about them. The idea, the presentation, the food, environment. Everything is so fresh and clean. If this RMCO is over, I would definitely come to this place with my classmates and family. Tumbs up for them.
