Tara Burger Section 13 Shah alam is one of the street food vendors we chose to review due to the popularity among MSU students. They are located right around the corner at Menara u2, Jalan Boling Padang 13/62, Seksyen 13, Shah Alam, Selangor. It looks just like any other street food stall equipped with a tent and the necessary utensils which makes it mobile or portable as it could be moved to different locations depending on the owner’s decision. When it comes to Tara Burger location, they are located in one of the most strategic locations as the area is filled with university students, lecturers, and office workers.
As per online sources, Tara Burger has been in the street food industry since 2013. Besides, according to their Facebook page, the recipe used is 75 years old. It is an indication of the amount of publicity and popularity they have earned over the years. Even through online sources and by other means, we could not manage to find information about the owners or the exact amount of time that they have been in the street food industry. By asking the employees we were able to clarify that the food served is Halal as the ingredients used are Halal certified.
When looking into the menu, there are 16 varieties of burgers offered at different prices. This includes, Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) RM3.20, Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) Special RM4.20, Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) Special Cheese RM5.20, Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) Double RM5.00, Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) Double Special RM6.00, Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) Double Special Cheese RM7.00, Oblong Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) RM6.00, Oblong Special RM7.00, Oblong Kambing(goat) RM8.00, Hot-dog Jumbo Cheese RM5.00, Benjo RM3.00, Rusa(deer) RM5.50, Arnab(rabbit) RM5.50, Ikan(fish) RM4.20, and Monster Daging(meat)/Ayam(chicken) RM8.50. Customers can choose the level of spiciness from less spicy, spicy to extra spicy. In overall, the prices are affordable as it is below RM9.
For the review, one of our group members ordered the Ayam(chicken) Special which costs RM4.20. As we were not allowed to record during the preparation of the burger, we observed to see the ingredients used. The burger was prepared in less than 5 minutes. They first place the bottom bun in the plastic packaging whilst the burger patty is being prepared. Then, they put some onion and cabbage on the bottom bun. Once the burger patty is cooked and wrapped with an omelet, it is placed on top of the onion and cabbage. Lastly, they top it up with barbecue sauce, chili sauce, mustard, and a bit of cheese.
Our group member being someone who has never eaten street food enjoyed the burger. As per him, the burger had so many flavors to it. The taste of onion, cabbage, and the sauces complimented the burger patty and omelet. The sauces when combined was mouth-watering and the burger patty being well cooked, it melts into the mouth.
The Ayam(chicken) Special being just a basic burger among the other items on the menu, we could only imagine how good the other burgers would be. Even though Tara Burger has been in the business for such a long time, they operate mainly in Klang and Shah Alam only. When looking at the number of customers they receive on a daily basis, they could still operate in more areas throughout Malaysia and make profit as there would be plenty of potential customers.
In conclusion, Tara Burger currently being located in Shah Alam, they are in the best possible location to generate revenue. However, by the time they can expand their business by taking the opportunities that come along the way and market their burgers on social media platforms by investing extra effort than their current marketing efforts. In the future, we hope to see Tara Burger open their restaurant or cafe. Based on our taste test, Tara Burger fulfills our expectations and we will highly recommend it to burger lovers in Malaysia and also all over the world.
